Death

Mary Boswell Furr, 77, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Jackson Furr Jr. She is survived by a son, Hugh Jackson Furr III and his wife, Katherine; daughter, Carole Furr Clements and her husband, Duncan; grandchildren, Andrew Clements and his wife, Nicole, Brian Clements, and Diana Furr; brothers, John Iverson Boswell Jr. and George Robert Boswell; and a sister, Elizabeth Boswell Lackey. Mrs. Furr retired from the Virginia Community College system. She was a longtime member of Bon Air Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Sanctuary Choir. She was also a member of the local chapter of the DAR. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 21, at Bliley's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dale Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow on Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
