Death

GREENSBORO- On Saturday, July 1, 2006, David Lloyd Furr passed peacefully away at his home at Friendly Hills apartments at the age of 56. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Chapel. Visitation with the family will follow after the service and at other times at the home of Ivey and Katie Furr. David was born on September 29, 1949 in Fort Bragg to Ivey Lloyd and Katie Jackson Furr. He graduated from University of North Carolina Greensboro and was an avid Carolina basketball fan. He was also greatly interested in history and the arts. He was most recently employed at Fresh Market at Guilford College and was previously an inventory control analyst at Gilbarco. He was very caring and unselfish with a friendly smile for everyone he encountered. David was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving David are his parents, Ivey and Katie Furr; brother, Barry Furr and wife Peggy and their children, Lyndsay and Matthew all of Greensboro; and a sister, Janet Gross and husband Dewey and their daughter, Corey of Birmingham, Ala.
