Death

Don Rexford Booher, age 69, of Russellville, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at his home.A son of the late Shelby Ray and Effie Geneva Taylor Booher, he was born April 28, 1940, in Arizona. He was retired from IBM Electronics where he was in development and research. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was Fire Control Officer and was a part of the Mercury and Gemini space programs. He was a Christian. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Berryman Booher. Survivors include three sons, Ray Booher, Don Booher Jr., and his wife, Taira, and Franklin Booher, all of Russellville; a brother, Bob Demarko of Philadelphia, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Phillip Booher of Benton, DeannabBooher of Russellville, Sarah Beth Booher of Marimora, N.J., and Jacob and Isaac Booher, both of Illinois. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at the Shinn Chapel officiated by the Rev. Don Erwin. Burial with military honors provided by the Rogers-Rye Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2283 will be in Booher Cemetery by Shinn Funeral Service. Family members will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The online obituary and guestbook are available at www.shinnfuneral.com.
