Death

Glyndolyn Drake, 88, of Greenville, passed away July 23, 2016 at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Wisdom officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at funeral home. Glyndolyn was born April 27, 1928 in Celeste, Texas to Houston and Tommie Jones Furr. She married Harold Baker in August of 1949, he preceded her in death in 1976. She married Ardis Drake in August of 1993 in Greenville. She was a retired secretary from Raytheon and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Glyndolyn is survived by her husband, Ardis Drake of Greenville; son, Alan Baker of Dallas; daughters, Vicki Wisdom and spouse, Billy of Greenville, Terri Baker of Crisfield, MD; step-sons, Richard Drake and spouse, Tina of Liberty Grove, Randall Drake and spouse, Susan of Dallas and Ron Drake of Dallas; grandchildren, Holly Taylor, Chris Wisdom and spouse, Kirsten Fields, Kathryn Douglas and spouse, Josh, Liz Wisdom, Melanie Tippit and spouse, Shelby, Meredith Lehan, Jennifer Baker, Jordan Hughes and spouse, Brandon, Derrick Weimer and spouse, Tracey, Darren Weimer, Ricky Drake, Courtney Drake, Stephen Drake and spouse, Keyla, Doug Drake; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul Melvin Furr and step-daughter, Sharon Weimer. Pallbearers will be John Bishop, Josh Douglas, Glen Rucker, Steve Shipp, Shelby Tippit and Jeff Ward.
