Death
Mrs. Jessie Simmons Furr, 78, of 829 Edgewood Ave., SE, died Wednesday at her home. A native of Villa Rica, she had lived in Atlanta 20 years. She was a member of the Villa Rica Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. The Rev. Harry Mitcham will officiate, with burial in Crest Hill Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. R. R. Smith and Mrs. C. W. Ponder, both of Atlanta, and Mrs. H. D. Epps of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters, Mrs. George Melton and Miss Annie Simmons, both of Atmore, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.The Atlanta Journal, Atlanta, Georgia, March 27, 1957
