Death
Mrs. Mary Ann Newell, 90, widow of John Newell and formerly of St. Pauls, died this morning in Southeastern General Hospital. The body will beat Biggs Funeral Home until an hour prior to the service Sunday at 3 p.m. in Second Baptist Church, St. Pauls. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Rowland, 17 Linkhaw Apartments. She is survived by a son, Grover Newell of Richmond, Va.; her daughters, Mrs. Rowland, Mrs. Jimmy Slass of Nora, Va., and Mrs. Will McFadyen of Laurinburg; her brothers, Ralph Furr of Midland and Doc, Leon and Grover Furr of Stanfield; her sisters, Mrs. Bessie Robbins of Midland and Mrs. Lizzie Rymer of Kannapolis.The Robesonian, Lumberton, North Carolina, July 24, 1970
