Death

LOCUST - Elizabeth Eudy Furr, 80, of 107 Danita Drive, Locust, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Rommie Williams, Elder David Anderson, Elder Larry Austin and grandson, Trent Yow will officiate. Burial will be at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust. Mrs. Furr was born June 6, 1928 in Stanly County the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Eudy and the late Lectie Jane (Huneycutt) Eudy. She had worked in the Printing Department at Allison Manufacturing. She was a member of Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Curtis Eudy and Jessie Eudy; and sisters, Estelle Whitley and Mattie Bell Smith. Survivors include her husband, Leonard Furr of Locust; son Ranny Gene "Runt" Furr and wife, Nancy, of New London; daughters, Blinda Hartsell and husband, Jimmie of Locust, Joyce Harris and husband, Ronnie, of Ridgecrest and Vicky Yow and husband, Terrell of Stanfield; brothers, Henry Eudy and wife, Nell of New London and Ernest Eudy and wife, Betty of Locust; sisters, Gertie Almond, Scenie Hunter and Ann Jean Page and husband, Lee Roy, all of Mount Pleasant and Peggy Hartsell and husband, J.D. of Locust; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081. Arrangements by Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland.
