Death

ROCKINGHAM — Alberta McMillan Furr, 85, sister of Ellen Kate Livingston of Goldsboro, died Sunday at home. A Harnett County native and a homemaker, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Ellen E. Johnson McMillan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Park Avenue Presbyterian church with the Rev. Carroll Anthony officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Cypress Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In addition to her sister she is survived by a son, John David (Buddy) Furr of Rockingham; two daughters, Ellen Young of Cordova and Bertie Howard of Hamlet; two other sisters, Margaret Harris of Cornelious and Edith Smith of Sanford; and four grandchildren. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice, 230 Lawrence St., Rockingham, 28379. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Marks Funeral Home in Rockingham.
