CONCORD -- Mary Kathryn Furr Cooke Eudy, 79, died November 7, 2008. Service Monday 2pm, St. Martin Lutheran Church; burial, church cemetery. Visitation Sunday 6-8pm, Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord. Published in the Charlotte Observer on 11/9/2008CONCORD - Mary Kathryn Furr Cooke Eudy, 79,of 6477 Mount Pleasant Road S., followed Jesus home on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at 11:40 p.m., with her family by her side. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Martin Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marvin Honeycutt and the Rev. T.C. Plexico officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. Mrs. Eudy was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Timothy Henry Furr and the late Ola Mae (Drye) Furr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eudy was also preceded in death by her first husband, George M. Cooke Jr.; brother, Ralph M. Furr; and sister, Doris Greene. Mrs. Eudy was a self-employed beautician. She delivered Meals on Wheels, as well as grew and provided roses for The Country Home and Eden Gardens Assisted Living. She was a member of Saint Martin Lutheran Church, Concord. The family would like to give a special thank you to Angela Trull, the caregivers from hospice, Cabarrus County Medicine and Cabarrus Oncology. She is survived by husband, Mack Reade Eudy of Concord; son, Steve Cooke of Apex; daughters, Marilyn Barringer and husband, Scott, of Mount Pleasant and Susan Standish of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ashlyn and husband, Jeff, Lindsey, Jessica, Nigel and Nora; great-grandchild, Abigail, the apple of her eye; step-children, Billy, David, Kimberly and Leslie; 13 step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Henry Lee Furr and wife, Yvonne, of Concord and Ray H. Furr and wife, Brenda, of Concord. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC, 28081 and St. Martin Lutheran Church, 5469 N.C. 200, Concord, NC, 28025. Arrangements by Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord.
