Death
MT. PLEASANT Mr. Howard Ernest Furr, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant died 8:15 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Universal Health Care of Concord. The Furr family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Gordon Funer-al Home of Mt. Pleasant. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis offici-ated by the Rev. David Isenhour, with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Furr was born Nov. 19, 1924 in Rowan County, son of the late Howard Ernest Furr, Sr. and Mary Alice Troutman Furr. He was a graduate of Fruitland Bible Institute and was a Baptist Minister. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rice Furr. He is survived by his daughter, Trudy Furr Cauble, of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Leslie Michelle Scaldara and great-granddaughter, Brittany Elizabeth Burle-son. In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Nazareth Children's Home, P.O.
