Death
Mrs. Edna E. Furr, 76, of route 6, Statesville, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 1993, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on Jan. 6, 1917, a daughter of the late David Elliott and Maggie Estes Elliott. She was a retired homemaker and a member of New Bethany Baptist Church. She was married to John Alvin Furr. Survivors include one son, John Alvin Furr, Jr., of route 3, Statesville; two daughters, Mrs. Denise Estes of route 6, Statesville and Mrs. Polly Moore of Greensboro; three sisters, Mrs. Wilma Crider, Mrs. Daisey Wilcox, and Mrs. Ruby Wilcox, all of Statesville; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at New Bethany Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
