KANNAPOLIS — Mrs. Willie Beam Davis, 67, 110 South Maple Avenue, died at 1:40 p.m. yesterday at Lowrance Hospital, Mooresville, following six years of declining health and a serious illness of five weeks. A member of the Kannapolis Church of God, Mrs. Davis was employed at Corriher Mills, Landis until her health failed six years ago. She had been a resident of Kannapolis for the last 15 years. She is survived by the husband, J. W. Davis; two daughters, Mrs. A. B. Long of Concord and Mrs. Frank Powell of Kannapolis; a step daughter, Mrs. Dave Motley of Concord; three step sons, Hoyle Furr of Belmont, Marshall Furr, Concord, and Horace Furr, Lexington, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. at the Church of God. The rites will be conducted by Rev. A. V. Beaube, assisted by Rev. Harvey Hudson. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Concord. The body will be carried to the home at 5 p.m. today and will lie in state at the church tomorrow for 36 minutes prior to the funeral hour.

KANNAPOLIS, Oct. 12 — Funeral service was conducted at the Church of God at 4 p.m. today for Mrs. Willie Beam Davis, 67, a resident of Kannapolis for 16 years. Rev. A. V. Beaube, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. Harvey Hudson. Mrs. Davis died Saturday in a Mooresville hospital. She had been ill five weeks. Surviving are her husband, J. W. Davis; two daughters, Mrs. A. B. Long of Concord and Mrs. Frank Powell of Kannapolis; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dave Motley of Concord; three stepsons, Hoyle Furr of Belmont, Marshall Furr of Concord and Horace Furr of Lexington; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
