Death

James “Buck” Vance White, Sr., age 91, husband of Betty Duggins White, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. Born in Randolph County, he was a son of the late Robert Lyndon White and Minnie Furr White. Mr. White was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was also a mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, and golf. In addition to his wife of 71 years, Mr. White is survived by four children, Vicki White-Lawrence, Thomas White (Pamela), Linda Sherrill, and J.V. White (Devin); six grandchildren, Philip Lawrence, Hayden Lawrence, Thomas White, Jr., Dana Campbell, Brian Fields, and Brenda Sherrill; four great grandchildren, Cody White, Lauren White, Eli Campbell, and Fiona Campbell; and three sisters, Doris Canter, Rachael Hunsucker, and Sarah Earnhardt. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale, NC 27263 with burial to follow in Randolph Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
