Death

Eli M. Eudy, son of J. W. and Elmira Eudy was born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina January 23, 1855 and departed this life May 23, 1934, being 79 years and 4 months of age. He came with his parents to Pope County, Arkansas when a lad of 16, settling on the old Grant Place east of Dover. He spent his entire life since that time, except one year, in the same community. He professed faith in Christ and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Center Point about 1880. He was also made an elder at this time. He was transferred from Center Point congregation to Dover congregation August 16, 1882 and was made an elder of Dover congregation. He was elected clerk of session August 19, 1893 and served until January 11, 1925, with the exception of 6 years when Mr. W. E. Parker was clerk from October 13, 1907 to October 13, 1913. He was married to Miss Margaret P. Young January 10, 1878. To this union five children were born, all surviving: Mrs. Sam Nelson, Russellville; Mrs. Floyd Berry, Dover; C. Y. and W. E. and Fred Eudy all of Dover. He is also survived by ten grandchildren. Mrs. Eudy preceeded him in death March 30, 1924. He is also survived by four sisters: Mrs. Julia Kirksey, Lorenzo, Texas; Mrs. Mary Linam, Loraine, Texas; Mrs. Minnie Rushing, Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Emma Thornton, Barger, Txxas; and two brothers: L. A. Eudy, Ranger, Texas and J. J. Eudy of Dover.
