Notes
Death
Seminole resident, Mary Lee (Furr) Marsh, age 86, went to be with our heavenly Father on July 15, 2016. She was born January 10, 1930, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Walter Furr and Etta Mae Furr. She grew up in Hulbert on her parent’s dairy farm where every morning she milked the cow and fed the chickens before going to school. She attended school in Hulbert, Oklahoma, but dropped out after breaking her hip at age sixteen. Later in her forties, when her children were grown, she went back to school and received her GED. She owned and operated day care centers for many years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She married Dan Myers in 1963 and welcomed his five children, ages four through eleven, to share her home with her and her three daughters. Later, she moved to Lutz, Florida where she got her real estate license and worked for Russell Adams Realty for several years. Then, she reunited with her high school sweetheart, David "Dave" Marsh, Jr. They married in Florida in 1990, and she moved to Hulbert, Oklahoma. She continued working in real estate at Wright Real Estate in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After the death of Dave in 2006, she moved to Seminole, Oklahoma to be near her sisters. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, having yard sales, seashelling, and making seashell art. She had a huge heart and loved cooking and serving food at Loaves and Fishes. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. She gave generously and was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by her family more than words can express. She is survived by her daughter, Darla D. Sweet-Behr, and step-children, Danetta Tull, Eddie Myers, O. J. Myers, Terry Myers, Barry Myers, David Marsh, and Sonja Shepherd; sisters, Juanity Wooton, Peggy Sorrell, and Patty Campbell; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave; daughters, LaRee Medina, and Dianna Lynn Barnes; step-son, Bill Marsh; sister, Betty Flo Stone; and brother, James L. Furr.
