Death
Graveside services for Randle Elias Furr, of Leland, are 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson. Boone Funeral Home in Leland is in charge of arrangements. Dr. Furr, 81, died March 19, 2007, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was a retired entomologist with the USDA Experiment Station in Stoneville. He was a deacon in the Leland Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the American Legion and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Betty Rochester Furr; his children, Randy Furr and wife Morri, of Wesson, Linda Clark and husband Ricky, of Leland, and David Furr and wife, Kim, of Arcola; his grandchildren, John Furr, of Boston, Mass., Ray Clark, of Cordova, Tenn., Angela Jefcoat, of Cleveland, Lamar Furr, of Hollandale, Mary Mason Furr, of Arcola, Will Furr and Eli Furr, both of Wesson; his great-grandchildren, John Barry Clark, of Cordova, Marlee Furr, of Hollandale, Maxwell Clark, of Cordova, and Catherine Jefcoat, of Cleveland.
