Death
William P. Furr, Jr., 65, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is 12-1:30 p.m. Monday at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. Monday in Lakewood Memorial Park. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home of Jackson is handling arrangements. Mr. Furr was born in Wesson. He graduated from Mississippi State University, and was the former part owner of Hardin-Furr Furniture Company. He enjoyed sailing, and was an active volunteer and former board member with Goodwill Industries, and an active member and past president of the Mississippi State University Alumni Association. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. William F. Pontius, Richard G. Porter, William E. French, Fred A. Bethea, Todd Bethea, Charles S. McElroy, T.H. Etheridge, Terry Huffman and John Stribling. Mr. Furr is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Denise Furr of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Hayden Lawyer of Longmont, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Wilson and Hartwell Furr of Jackson. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Palmer Home for Children, P.O.
