Death
DELTA CITY — Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Olivia Furr, wife of S. G. Furr, will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday at the Church of God of Prophecy here. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Willie Turner, pastor, and the Rev. Buford F. Johnson of Eupora. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery, Boone Funeral Home of Leland is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Furr, 73, died at her home here at 1:45 a, m. Tuesday of what Sheriff Johnny Cooper of Sharkey County, acting as coroner, described as a self-inflicted wound of a 38 pistol. Mrs. Furr had been in ill health for several years. She was born at Indianola, s daughter of James and Kathryn McCarly Oliver. She received her education in Sunflower County School. In 1918 she married Sidney G. Furr. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Mrs. W. O. Summerall of Cary, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The pallbearers are Durell Parish, Horace Sandifer, Cecil Clark, Dewey A.
