Death
Katherine Furr Howard, 80, a homemaker, died at her home in Amory, Ms. on Tuesday, December 22, 1998. Funeral services and burial were in Hickory Flat, Mississippi, December 26. Katherine Furr Howard was born July 18, 1918, in Pontotoc County, Ms. In 1930 the Furr family moved to Bridgeport where they lived until 1936. After Bridgeport’s tragic cave-in where four men lost their lives — Mr. Furr was one of the victim’s — the family returned to their home of state Mississippi. Katherine was preceded in death her husband, James L. Howard, and brother, Clinton Furr. She is survived by two daughters, Marcia ppa (sic) of Wausau, Wi., and Janis, (last name unknown), of Amory, Ms., grandchildren, one great grandson, and a brother, Howard Furr of Salem, Oregon.Endnotes
