Immigration
This is speculative...but consistent with other records.
This is a bit of a mystery. In the 1905 census, he says he has been in the US for 8 years, suggesting 1897. In the 1920 census, he gives an answer suggesting 1895. In the 1920 census, they claim that they all immigrated in 1903. But he appears in the 1901 England census. When Lydia and children arrived on 10 October 1903, they indicated on the ship's manifest that they would join Patrick. A date of 1903 is consistent with the 1910 census.
Perhaps he immigrated early and went home for visits occasionally. I've punted and selected an 1896 record that is consistent with other facts.
Marriage
The 1910 census says married 9 years. This is consistent with a date of Apr 1900 to Apr 1901. Her first husband died in 1899.Residence (family)
Census records his name as McGolganNaturalization
Perhaps never...The 1910 census lists Patrick, Lydia and Herbert as alien. The 1920 census lists Patrick and Lydia as alien. The 1925 census lists Patrick and Lydia as alien.Endnotes
