The 1860 census indicates that Jacob D. Rosenberger owned "$4120 real estate and $6000 personal estate."The 1870 census reports that he owned "$12,000 real estate and $8500 personal estate."
The Rosenberger-Swartley Family History, pg 226, reports that "[Jacob Detweiler Rosenberger was a] farmer in Bucks County PA; was quite wealthy..."
Religion
History of Bucks County, PA, Vol 3, by William H. Davis, pg 418 (originally printed 1905) states: "This family have been Mennonites since their arrival in Pennsylvania..." This note, and their burial in the Mennonite Cemetery at Line Lexington raises questions about their membership among the Brethren.Endnotes
