Individual Details
William Henry Robinson
(20 Mar 1835 - 2 May 1884)
The following information was recorded by W.A.S. on Jan 24, 1968. It was obtained from Rebekah Oliver, W. E.. Sherrill, Chart # 11, Virginia McMenaway, Tombstone in Sherrill Cemetery, Gladeville, TN, Jane Armijo and Mrs. W. W. Lustre.
Elizabeth Jane Sherrill, first child of Samuel Wilson Sherrill and Eliza Ann Bomar. Was born on 11 May 1837, probably in Wilson County, Tennessee.
Elizabeth married (1) to William H. Robinson of Meridian, Mississippi. William H. Robinson's mother, whose maiden name was Lowrey, was the daughter of the Governor of Mississippi. He died on 2 May 1884 according to his Tombstone in Sherrill Cemetery, Gladeville, Tennessee, but Jane Armijo gives his death date as 1876.
BIOGRAPHY
The following info from Ann Kelly, akelly@@bellsouth.net, Dec 3,2002:
...were the parents of Alice, Annie, Tolbert, Wallace Barrett, and
Nimrod.
Also, he wasn't having children at age 2, 4, 6, 9.
Alice's husband was sherriff in Wilson County and was known as Luke.
Wallace Barrett built, owned and operated the Silver Dollar Saloon in
Nashville which is now the Hard Rock Cafe.
Mary Ann Lustre just died. She was Annie's granddaughter. She told me
she had a wine glass from the saloon. I feel sure the estate will be
auctioned. When her parents died she locked the house up and it has
been sitting ever since.
We came from good stock but I doubt Nimrod's ability to father
children at ages 2 and 4.
NOTE: I will leave the dates I have until I come up with better dates.
