James Finley Fetterling

(1 Dec 1931 - 1 Dec 1931)

My sister Lori and I were visiting the Pomona Cemetery and inquiring about a posting I saw of someone named "Our Baby Fetterling". We wanted to know if there were any record of who was burried there. The people had no idea where to look for a record, as all I had was a Find-A-Grave photo with the marker. I was fortunate enough to get a response from the person who took and posted the photo and she told me it was taken near the front entrance gate. With this new information I inquired again on who this baby might be. I told them the grave is near the front gate. That was all they needed to confirm what I thought was true. Fetterling is a unique name on the west coast, and certainly related to someone buried here who had lost a child early in life. I am told that is the section where children were buried from parents who could not afford a plot. This Baby Fetterling is my fathers younger brother who died at a very early age just after the depression was hitting in the 1930's Our Baby Fetterling marker is the marker for James Finley Fetterling who was named after his mother's father James Finley Timmons.
