Sophia's father also killed himself. So both of Tillie's grandfathers committed suicide, one with a gun and one by hanging. Johann Christolph's father was Hermann Heinrich and his mother was Catherina Maria Holtgrease. Hermann's father was Gerhard Heinrich.
There is a large book published by a Schmersahl descendent in Houston, Texas. It gives hundreds of pages of our Schmersahl relatives. I have a copy somewhere in my library.
