When Thomas James (Jay) Allen was born on April 2, 1884, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, his father, Orrin, was 40 and his mother, Mary, was 39. He married Bertha Carolina (Byrtha Cathryn) Taube and they had two children together - she died 30 Mar 1917. He then married Mary Ellen (Maysie) Williams [19 Dec 1921, Prince Rupert, Canada]
and they had six children together. He died on June 6, 1939, in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, at the age of 55, and was buried in Edson, Alberta, Canada.Occupation

Tom died from cancer of stomach in June 6, 1939. buried Glenwood Cemetery, Edson, Hinton Division, Alberta, Canada

The 6 boys uncles and aunts planned their future.
The uncles and aunts were:
Alonzo and Ida Allen of Cleveland ,Ohio.
William and Grace Allen of OakPark, Illinois.
Orrin and Florence Allen of Chicago, Illinois.

They brought the Allen boys to the United States by rairoad from Canada in June of 1939.
Terry and Pat went with Uncle Lon and Ida to Cleveland.
Richard and Orrin went with Uncle Orrin and Florence to Chicago.
Jim and Jack went with Uncle Will and Grace to OakPark,Illinois.

This lasted about 6 months due to the age of the relatives and the rambunctious boys.
They were then moved to the Allen Family Home in Belle Plaine, Iowa where their father and uncles were raised. The uncles brought Cecile Hopp to the U.S. to continue raising the boys.
