Mary Jane Green
(Ca 1723 - Jul 1786)
Jane Green (alias Lile) was transported from London to Maryland by the ship "Blandon" captained by Samuel Laurence in June 1742 and was listed as a felon from Middlesex according to Public Records Office (T53/41/129], Kew, Richmond, Surrey England, from the book "King's Passengers to Maryland and Virginia" by Peter Wilson Coldham, 1997.
John GREANE and Charles GREANE households are quite close to the Thomas JANSON, John FERNIS household on the 1737 tax, Upper Hundred north of Gunpowder.
"Scotch Irish: A Social History" details the massive emigration of the protestant Irish into Philadelphia in the early eighteenth century, and also the forced migration via ports in England. Neither Virginia nor Maryland would take them. They tended to settle at first in Philadelphia, then move to Lancaster. When the Germans came to Lancaster, they moved to Baltimore, then Orange and then Augusta(formed in 1745), after the Shenando Valley opened up around 1727. This book also characterizes them as restless, Daniel Boone being a foremost example of a disproved Irish Quaker. It also details how Irish could have been made felons and convicts merely for speaking against the crown. The book "Albion's Seed" also mentions that many of the so called Ulster-Scotch were actually transplanted north Britons.
