Individual Details
Jehu Burr
(By 1605 - By 1654)
Migrated to American in 1630 in the Winthrop Fleet, first living in Roxbury. He was made Freeman, 18 May 1631. Moved to Springfield in 1636 & Fairfield in 1641.
Jehu may have been married more than once. The mother of his son Jehu may have been a sister of John Cable, Sr, but she was not likely the mother of the rest of the children.
Jehu was deceased by 1654, perhaps even earlier. On 17 Feb 1670/1, the younger Jehu recorded a homelot adjoining his own of which he had "quiet possession above this sixteen years". 12 Jan 1673/4 is a description of the same lot, signed by his brother John from whom he had purchased it. The next entry, also dated the 12th, is the younger Jehu's own homelot which he "hath by his father's will Jehu dec'd" and bounded by the lot he had bought from his brother John. [No will has ever been found]
