Israel Lorton lived near the Harmon's and his wife's name was Rachel. They are the likely candidates for parents of Sarah and her brother Jacob.

2 Feb 1768 Jacob and Lydia Lorton sold to James Bane for £100, 560 acres. Obtained by deed from James Patton, 2 Feb 1754, on Toms Creek, a pine by the Beaver Dams; corner Jacob Harmon's, corner Price's land.

Jacob Lorton and his wife are mentioned in the diary of one Archibald Thompson, b. 27 Jun 1736. Lydia had first been married to John Elswick by whom she had four children. Lydia is recorded:
“Lidia Lorton wife of Jacob lorton was Born in the year of our lord 1721 & Departed This life October 1798, her Age Doth Amount to 77 years.”
Two children are recorded for Jacob and Lydia:
Israel, b. 4 Mar 1749
Rebekah, b. 23 1754 [month omitted]
Archibald Thompson's wife was Mary Elswick, b. 16 Nov 1741, daughter of Lydia and her first husband John Elswick. An interesting coincidence is that Elswick Thompson, son of Archibald & Mary, b. 13 Oct 1765, married Patty Akers, 17 Nov 1788 and they named a son Harman Thompson, born in 1794. No direct connections to the Harmon family can be found in the diary.
