Charles H. Stevinson
Charles H. Stevinson of 3400 Eastdale Drive, Fairway, Businessman and civic leader here many years, died Monday at the home.
He was born in Hallsville, Mo., and had lived in this area most of his life.
Mr. Stevison founded the Stevinson Auto & Electrical School Company at 2008 Main in 1922. He was president of the company 55 years.
In 1952 h received a presidential citation for promoting equal opportunity in employment for the handicapped. He was past president of the National Rehabilitation Association. He was a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Comprehensive Rehabilitation Planning.
Mr. Stevinson was a member of the Goodwill Industries Board of Trustees 24 years. He served on the Mayor's Committee for the Employment of the Handicapped in Kansas City.
Mr. Stevinson was a member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and the Sertoma Club.
He was an Army veteran of World War I.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Mr. Stevinson leaves his wife, Mrs. Eva Stevinson of the home; two sons, Charles E. Stevinson, Golden, Colo., and Joseph Stevinson, Kansas City; a duaghter, Mrs. Mary Frances Knapp, Roeland Park; a sister, Mrs. Helen Chalmers, Hutchinson, Kan.; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 am Thursday at the church; burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be said at 8 pm Wednesday at the chapel, where friends may call after 7 pm.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Stevinson. Mrs. Grace Hobbs of Springfield, MO and Mr. George W. Knapp of Buffalo, MO, are the parents of the bridegroom.
