?Adam Harmon
( - 1756)
Was this son who died with his father in 1756 Adam? The accounts of the death of Jacob say that Jacob Harmon and his son were killed, but the son is not named. Some have tried to make him a John and attached records that can be shown to belong to other John Harmons in the area.
There are a few records that suggest this son may have been the eldest and was named Adam.
In 1746, Jacob had three sons working on a road crew with him. By 1756 when the deaths occurred, they would likely have been old enough to create their own records.
17 Feb 1758. Augusta Co, VA. Col. James Patton's estate was appraised and there was a long list of bonds, bills, due the estate. One of these notes was dated 12 Feb 1753 and signed by Jacob Harman Jr. and Adam Harman. Possibly two brothers borrowing money?
1 Feb 1754. Jacob Harmon Jr bought 625 acres in Augusta Co on Toms Creek from James Patton. On 9 Feb, he sold 170 acres of that tract to William Byers and Adam Harmon was a witness.
