I had thought perhaps William died before August of 1840 - he was omitted from the list of heirs who received the bounty land of his father Robert Dickerson, although he was included on the application in 1834. He was also included in a deed of his father's estate made to William, James & Elizabeth Harmon in 1831. But he seems to be in the 1840 census - no date could be found for the enumeration but it was supposed to begin on June 1, 1840.
