J. J. Hogan, a pioneer settler of the Pink Hill community died last Saturday morning. He was 84 years old and came to Texas in 1872 from Alabama. He joined the Confederater army as a private and was made a captain before the close of the war. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 51 years and was a member of the Baptist church for 63 years. ...The following children survive: W. J. (Bud) Hogan, J. J. Hogan, Jr., Mrs. Charles Crews and Mrs. Emma Brown, all of Bells, and Mrs. Mollie L. McCollum, Valley View.
