Most sources indicate that he went by the given name of Leon, but the 1905 Wisconsin State Census and 1910 Federal Census (both for Marinette) indicate that his Leon was his middle name. Gideon or Gidion was his first name. Surname sometimes translated to WHITE.

Name given as Leon WHITE on marriage record (on file at Menominee County Courthouse). Son of Julian (White) LeBlanc and Mary DeRocher.
