Marriage record (1907) gives her age as 40 and her father as Felix Shampo. Ancestry Family Tree (Lydia Knapp Family) calls her Ida Olive Champeau Laycock, with a birthdate of 14 Apr 1870 in Bay Settlement (not sourced). This year would make her mother 50 years old at the time of her birth, so I think 1867, as indicated by her marriage record, would be more likely. Even more likely is that she is the same person as Olive Champeau, born about 1863. There was no younger child, and no Ida, living in the family in 1870, as per the census. I can't find any record of her marriage to a Laycock -- was she perhaps adopted by the Laycock family? Still working on this puzzle.
