Notes
Birth
The 1850 Census reports her age as 13, and the 1860 Census reports her age as 21. She could not have been born in 1837 or 1838, because her brother Joseph was born in May of 1837 and Louis in September of 1838. There is no female child of that age indicated on the 1840 Census, suggesting she may have been born after that Census enumeration date, in the last part of 1840 -- though this conflicts with the age on the 1850 Census.Census (family)
Enumerated with this family were:-- Antoine Bruyette, age 64, born May 1836 in Canada, immigrated 1848
-- his wife, Madeline, age 60, born April 1840 in Wisconsin
Antoine and Madeline had been married for six years. She had had no children.
