Residence (family)
This family shared a house with the Charles LaComb family. Charles was the brother of Peter LaComb. His wife was the former Margaret Bush, and her younger sister, Mary Bush, age 17, was boarding with them. Charles and Margaret also had one son, Amor (Edmund Anthony), age 7. Both Peter and Charles were working in a saw mill. Thus, we get some idea of how the Raboins and the LaCombs and Bushes may have gotten together. The brothers Frederick and Max Raboin each courted and married one of the young ladies from this household. They were from the same area in Quebec, and the families were likely aware of each other from the beginning. Frederick married Philomene LaComb on 27 June 1870 and Max married Mary Bush on 9 April 1871. Eleven years later, their younger brother, Mose, may have been visiting his brothers in Daggett when he met the first cousin of Fred's Philomene, another Philomene LaComb. This cousin was the daughter of Mose LaComb, the brother of Peter and Charles above. Mose and Philomene married on 1 November 1882 in Daggett. Stella Raboin told me that they distinguished between the two Philomenes by calling them "Aunt Minnie-Mose" and "Aunt Minnie-Rick" ("Rick" being a nickname for Frederick).
