Notes
Birth
Age 3 on 1870 Census. Age 15 on 1880 Census.1901 Census seems to give date of 18 October 1865, but it is extremely faded. Also, the date given here for Edmond is definitely incorrect.
Residence
Included in this family are David Germain, age 58; his wife, Anna, age 54; and children: Virgine, age 23; Olive, age 18; Elize, age 15; Martha, age 13; and Agnes, age 11. Names and ages don't jive as closely as I'd like with the 1870 Census.http://interactive.ancestry.com/6742/4244774-00039?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d6742%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=4244774-00043
Marriage
Another record for a marriage on 23 May 1885 exists in the parish records of Precious Blood Church in Stephenson, p-10. However, the Wisconsin Genealogy Index (along with researcher Natalie Friend) indicates that they were married earlier in Hudson, Wisconsin. Perhaps the first ceremony was a civil one and they later had their marriage solemnized in Stephenson. Note that their first child was born before this religious ceremony. Witnesses for the ceremony at Precious Blood: Henry Bush and Louisa Hamilton.Census (family)
Included in this family are Edmond Raboin, age 34; his wife Marie (sic), age 25; and children: Rosanna, age 5; Edmond, age 3; and Frederic, age 1. Also his parents, Frederic (listed as a "rentier"), age 62, and Domithilde, age 59. The census then goes on to enumerate the complete families of Frederick, Jr., Maxime, Thomas, Moise, and Calixte, although all of these other sons were living in the United States at the time and busily raising their families there! They certainly weren't all living there on the one farm!Census (family)
Census is very faded and difficult to read. Children included are Rosanna, age 16; Derique (Frederic), age 11; Marie J, age 5; Clarinda, age 3; Marie A, age 1; and Donat, less than one.http://interactive.ancestry.com/8826/z000150265?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d8826%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=z000150277
Census (family)
Living with Edmond and Elizabeth were their children: Herman (age 18), Rose M. (age 17), Leo J. (age 14), and Angeline M. (age 13). Rose is listed as a son, as a male! This census indicates that Edmond immigrated in 1874, and was naturalized in 1918. He owned his farm, with a mortgage. All children were naturalized. Enumerated immediately after this family were Omer and Rose Pelletier, their son-in-law and daughter.http://interactive.ancestry.com/6061/4390901_00988?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d6061%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=4390901_01001
Census (family)
Enumerated with this family were Edmund Raboin, age 72, his wife, Elizabeth, age 64, and son, Herman D. Raboin, age 29. Also, a lodger, Dellor Martell (age 33). They owned a radio set. Neither Edmond nor Elizabeth could read or write, but they could all speak English. Herman was naturalized; Edmond's record reads "Pa," which means his final citizenship was pending. Edmond immigrated to the U.S. in 1885. His occupation was farmer. Herman's occupation is listed as "none" -- was he handicapped in some way? The family next door was that of their daughter, Rose, and Homer Peltier.http://interactive.ancestry.com/6224/4547579_00952?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d6224%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=4547579_00966
Census (family)
Edmond and Elizabeth were living with Herman, who was listed as head of the family. Also, a boarder, Alvin Rivard. They lived in the same house in 1935.http://interactive.ancestry.com/2442/m-t0627-04522-00556?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2442%26path%3d&ssrc=&backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=m-t0627-04522-00575
