First marriage record gives her surname as PINAUD (somewhat difficult to read), and her parents are listed as the late Antoine PINAUD and Magdeleine BAUDET -- NOT Michel PINAUT and Simone BEAUDET, as Tanguay and Jetté indicate. In the children's baptismal records that I have seen, she is always called PINAULT (also spelled PINAU, PINAUD, PINAUT, or PINOT). HOWEVER, according to Mme. Marthe Faribeault-Beauregard, the church record itself is in error. There was no Antoine PINAUD in New France at this time, and according to the notarial record, the parents were indeed Michel PINEAU and Simone BEAUDET.
