Mrs. Emily Hicks, 71, of 1212 N. 12th St., died Monday afternoon in St. Nicholas Hospital after a long illness.
The former Emily Kaiser was born March 7, 1900 in Reinwald, Russia, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Kaiser. In 1907, she came to Sheboygan with her parents, attend Trinity Lutheran School and was confirmed in Trinity Church.
On May 19, 1917, she was married to Christ Hicks of Sheboygan in Trinity Church. A retried Garton Toy Co. employee. Mr. Hicks died April 8, 1971.
Mrs. Hicks was a member of Trinity Church, a former member of its Ladies Aid Society, and a member and past-secretary of the Volga Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include two sons, John and Victor, both of Sheboygan, a daughter, Mrs. Lily Lewandoske, Sheboygan; 10 grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren: and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Beringer, and Mrs. Emma Hermann, both of Sheboygan.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with the Rev. Karl Schulz, pastor emeritus of Trinity Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
