Lawrence Francis Rosera, 99, of Boise headed for greener pastures on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
Larry was born in Lena, Wisconsin, November 2, 1914, to John and Laura Rosera, the sixth of eight children.
Larry's mother passed when he was three and he spent the early years of his life in the care of family and friends in Wisconsin and Michigan. His early work included a hardware store, and traveling throughout Wisconsin to hatcheries for sexing baby chickens. He entered the Army Air Corp and spent time at Gowen Field. While he was in Boise, he met and fell in love with Virginia Beckdolt. They were married on March 3rd, 1946. 
After Larry and Virginia married they spent a year in Wisconsin where David was born. They moved back to Idaho where Larry worked with Virginia's father and brothers to learn carpentry. While living in Cascade for a construction project, Julie was born. After moving back to Kuna Frankie was born. In l953 the family moved to Boise where Larry built the family home where he lived until his death. Becky and Laura were added to the family in Boise.
He was employed by Jordan Wilcomb Construction and the Matthews Brothers and was involved in many construction projects around Boise including Boise State, Hewlett Packard and Albertsons. During retirement he had a small blade sharpening business. 
In Larry's younger years he enjoyed fishing, hunting and eating pie. He fed the family from his amazing garden and the steers he raised. He learned to be very resourceful and enjoyed creating and fixing things. 
Larry was a devout Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also was a life-long Democrat, a member of the Local Carpenter's Union, a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan and he loved his kitties.
Larry was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, three brothers, four sisters and his granddaughter Jennifer Rosera.
He is survived by his in-laws, Shirley (Russell) Clancy; his five children, David (Miriam) Rosera, Julie Rosera (Gil), Frankie Rosera (Russ), Becky (Rick) Groff, Laura Gilmore (Jay); eleven grandchildren, Maria Rosera, Sandy Denney, Tracee Westmoreland, Nick, Jesse and Sidney Deeds, Mathew Groff, Dan (Chris) Groff, Ben (Danae) Gilmore, Alex and Max Gilmore; seven great grandchildren, Zoe, Ezekio, Aziyah, Trevor, Ivy, Alena and a baby girl due in April; and numerous other extended family members.
The family would like to express our gratitude to his extraordinary caregiver Mindy, others who helped to keep him at home and the entire amazing staff of St. Luke's Hospice.
A private family mass will be celebrated in Larry's honor. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Luke's Hospice.
