Obituary of Edith LaButte Deloria:
Mrs. Edith Deloria, long a resident of Garden, died at a Menominee Convalescent Home Saturday. She had been in declining health for a number of years.
Mrs. Deloria was born in De Pere, Wis., on October 13, 1869 and went to Garden to live sixty-five years ago. It was here, on Nov. 28, 1886, that she was married to Eustach Deloria. He preceded her in death in 1940. They left Garden in 1919, residing for a number of years in Detroit, but a few years after his death, she returned to Garden.
Surviving her are four sons, Clarence and Joseph, of Detroit; Osborne, of Kenosha, Wis.; and George of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Hector Barney, of Grand Marais; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Francis de Sales church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Fr. E.H. Berendsen will conduct the funeral mass and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. The body is now at the Morton Funeral home. The Escanaba Daily Press, Monday, July 18, 1949.
