Individual Details

Joseph Donat Cyprien CASTONGUAY

(23 Sep 1878 - )

Usually called simply "Joseph Castonguay." According to a brief story from "Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix, 1873-1998" (p. 271), after Edouard Castonguay was killed, his widow took her five oldest children and went to join family members in the United States. Her youngest child, Joseph, was adopted by Édouard Pelletier. This Edouard Pelletier is mentioned in record of Joseph's second marriage, though not in the first. Both of these records report Joseph to be the child of Edouard Castonguay and Hermine Saindon (both deceased), so the adoption must have been an informal one.
