Alvin Neely Kirkpatrick was born 17 June 1908. On 13 September he married Nancy Carter of Cherryville, Gaston County, North Carolina. She died 13 October 1975.

Born in Chester County, he was a son of the late George W. and Sarah Elizabeth Drennan Kirkpatrick. He was a retired ship designer of Newport News, Va., Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. and a former operator of Peoples Finance Co. of Great Falls. He was a member of Fort Lawn United Methodist Church, Richburg Masonic Lodge and Great Falls Lions Club. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Frances S. Copeland of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Mary L. Ward of Columbia and Mrs. Frances A. McCormick of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; a son, George W. "Buddy" Kirkpatrick of Layton, Utah; sisters, Mrs. T. A. (Maude) Carter of Cherryville, N. C., and Mrs. B. B. (Sudie) McKelvy of Easley, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Fort Lawn United Methodist Church, with Burial in Union Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church cemetery at Richburg. Memorials may be made to Fort Lawn United Methodist Church. Mahaffey Funeral Home is in charge.
