Unknown Franklin Co., Illinois area newspaper, February 4, 1958: Mrs. Effie Kirkpatrick, Sesser, Dies; Funeral Services Tuesday. Mrs. Effie Kirkpatrick, 69, of Sesser died Saturday at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin, following an extended illness. The widow of H. S. Kirkpatrick, who died in 1950, Mrs. Kirkpatrick leaves three children: Dean, Rock Island; Bobby, Los Angeles, and Dow, Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister and two brothers; Mrs. Demonia Crain, Sesser; Otis Dycus, Sesser and Seth Dycus, Christopher. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sesser Methodist Church, with the Reverend Ray Porter officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Brayfield Funeral Home.
