Josephine Marie Zaloudek

A funeral service for Josephine Marie Kirkpatrick (nee Zaloudek), 101, took place on Friday, Oct. 24, at Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Elk Grove Village. Interment was at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 23, at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born on Feb. 27, 1907 in Chicago. "Jo" or "Little Jo" was an active member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church and the Elk Grove Senior Club, enjoying many long-lasting friendships and many years of activities. Before her eyesight failed, she enjoyed Bingo, Pinochle, knitting, and sewing crafts for family, friends, and fund-raisers. She died on Oct. 21, 2008 at Friendship Village in Schaumburg. Her parents Emanual and Barbara (nee Chmelir Zaloudek); her brothers Emanuel (Evelyn) Roger (Alma), Frank (Josephine), and George (Shirley) Zaloudek; her sisters Amelia Zaloudek, Mary (Douglas) Hoover, Stephanie (Cliff) Larson; and her grandson Robert W. Kirkpatrick preceded her in death. Her sons David (Patricia), Richard (Berit), and Ronald Kirkpatrick; her grandchildren Michael (Carrie), Kevin (Geri), Timothy (Lillian), and Keith (Kimberley) Kirkpatrick, Lisa (David) Wagner, Colleen (James) Schneider, Amy (Raymond) Houdek, Anna Kamilla (Runar) Saunes, and Kenneth Kirkpatrick; her great-grandchildren Nicole Scalia, Ryan, Christopher, James, Evan, Cody, and Caroline Kirkpatrick, Alex and Eric Wagner, Martin Saunes, Samantha and Caleigh Houdek; her sisters-in-law Josephine and Shirley Zaloudek; and many loving nieces and nephews and friends survive her.
