Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Lula Jan Kirkpatrick, 64, mother of Charles Kirkpatrick of Christopher, at the Horse Prairie Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Mrs. Kirkpatrick died at the family home east of Sesser on Monday. She was a life-long resident of the county. Surviving are her husband Roscoe and Charles and two brothers and three sisters: Charles of Whittington and John Johnston of Benton; Mrs. Lela Jones and Mrs. Bertie Taylor, Sesser and Mrs. Maggie Atchison of Manteno. There are three grandchildren. A daughter, Reba Connor, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. Revs. Maulding and Moore conducted the funeral rites.
