Journal-News of Hamilton, Ohio, 27 July 2000: Ike Hayes, age 99, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Monday, July 24, 2000. He was born in Grayhawk, Kentucky on October 3, 1900. He moved to Hamilton in 1917. He retitred from Champion Papers in 1961, after over 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Brown) Hayes; brothers, Floyd, Mac, John and Charlie; and two sisters, Dora and Jean. Ike is survived by two sisters, Sara Pruitt of South Carolina and Mary Massong of Texas. He is also survived by his son Ray Ernest; grandchildren Marti Bowling and Debbie Kupper, and four great grandchldren, Samantha, Jack, Nikki and Chris. Good-bye Grandpa, we will miss you. Funeral service will be held today, Thursday, at 10:00 a.m., at the Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South D Street. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. until time of service, at the funeral home.
