William Jabez Webb

The Sun-Sentinel, Thur., Dec. 21, 1905: The remains of Captain William Webb were buried at the Ecton graveyard near his city Dec. 14th. He died at Covington, Ky. For more than fifty years Captain Webb was prominent in eastern Kentucky. During the Civil War he was provost marshal of Irvine, Ky., and acquired the title of "Marshall" from his having served in that capacity. His politics were strongly Republican and he took an active interest in party affairs. He served one or more terms in the Kentucky Legislature and filled other positions of honor and trust. He had arrived at the age of 80 years.
