Jesse "Imogene" Davis

Mrs. Holliday died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at Mount Baker Care Center. She was 80. She was born Nov. 8, 1917, to Everett and Irma Kirkpatrick Davis in Carl, Iowa. After graduating from Weston High School in Weston, Neb., in 1934, and from Luther College in 1936, she began teaching in a one-room school house in Rescue, Neb. She married Lynn S. Holliday Sept. 17, 1944, in Glendale, Calif. He died in 1974.
A local resident since 1945, Mrs. Holliday taught at Custer Elementary School for 20 years and retired from the Ferndale School District in 1981. She was a member of Whatcom County Retired Teachers Association, National Education Association, American Association of Retired Persons, Emblem Club, Elks Club and Pythian Sisters. Mrs. Holliday enjoyed reading traveling, playing bingo and collecting eggs.
Survivors include son Duane Holliday of Bellingham; daughter Diane Poirier of Kingston; sisters Maurine Kliment, Betty Patzloff, Peggy Ericson and Patsy Comte, all of Nebraska; two grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
