George McColloch Easton

Posted at findagrave.com: George McColloch Easton was born 2 May 1835 in Zanesfield, Logan Co., OH, the son of William Easton and Paulina Carpenter. He married Lydia S. Haney, daughter of James Evan Haney and Hannah Nancy Leedom, on 11 Oct 1860 at Big Springs, Logan Co., OH. He enlisted in the Civil War on 11 Feb 1865 at Hale, OH as a Private in Co. I, 192nd Reg. Ohio Infantry. He was discharged 1 Sep 1865 at Winchester, VA. The family moved to Iowa about 1867 to claim the land inherited from his father. After two years they sold it and moved to Schuyler Co., MO and later to Kahoka, Clark Co., MO. The Easton family had a brick manufacturing facility on the north side of Kahoka and were also brick layers. George died 8 Mar 1911 in Kahoka, Clark Co., MO and is buried in the Kahoka Cemetery.
